Head of Speech and Language Therapy

A new, exciting opportunity to lead and inspire an innovative speech and language therapy team in the delivery of daily therapy and assessment within a specialist school setting. We are looking for an enthusiastic leader to join our therapy management team to ensure that every student leaves us as independent as possible. St Catherine’s is a small national charity working with children and young people with severe and lifelong speech, language and communication needs and associated difficulties.

Our site in Ventnor on the Isle of Wight encompasses a specialist school and sixth form, intensive speech, language and occupational therapy, residential facilities and comprehensive vocational programmes.

Our holistic approach ensures every student has access to high quality learning and personal development opportunities relevant to their needs.

We are looking for someone who can:

• Promote speech and language therapy within the school and beyond, sharing your passion for intervention and evidence-based practice.
• Lead strategic planning meetings with the Deputy of Speech and Language Therapy, shaping the therapy departments approach.
• Supervise the work of junior therapists, assistants, SaLT students and volunteers and provide managerial guidance and support.
• Co-ordinate and encourage the running of projects which contribute to evidence base.
